Returning to the roots of law and human rights — A new model of justice support emerging from the private sector
International Non-governmental Organization PEACE. (abbreviated as ingo PEACE., headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) has been continuously providing legal support for major criminal cases involving human rights violations in cooperation with the Thamardi Foundation, which offers free legal assistance (pro bono) in Myanmar.
In Criminal Case No. 15/2025 at the Taikkyi District Court (Murder of children in Taikkyi Township, Yangon Region), which was supported by both organizations, the court delivered its official verdict on September 24, 2025.
In this case, following hearings conducted under the rule of law, testimonies and evidence from both the prosecution and defense were examined impartially, resulting in a conviction and sentencing under Article 302 of the Penal Code.
This ruling serves as an extremely important case, demonstrating that even amid institutional disruption caused by economic sanctions and ongoing civil war, the judiciary continues to function, reaffirming the principle that “all people are equal under the law.”
The pro bono legal activities carried out by ingo PEACE. and the Thamardi Foundation have cast light on human rights issues that have been obscured, carrying deep significance in restoring public trust in the social system.

Listening to Voices on the Field — The Power of Coexistence with Dialogue
Rather than adopting diplomatic or political methods limited to criticism or statements from abroad, ingo PEACE. engages directly with communities on the ground as a “practical INGO” — listening to citizens, fostering dialogue, and working steadily to resolve issues through mutual understanding.
Through collaboration with local independent institutions such as the Thamardi Foundation, the Center for Peace and Reconciliation (CPR), and the Myanmar Christian Peace Support Central Committee (MCPSCC), ingo PEACE. continues to expand “dialogue-based solidarity” — spanning from judicial cooperation and the Peace Future Business Council to the development of a coexistence-oriented economic model utilizing blockchain technology, joint peacebuilding projects, and the establishment of the “Hope Support Desk” (provisional name) as a civic contact point to listen to and support the voices of citizens. These efforts aim to advance the restoration of law, human rights, and everyday life.

Toward a Coexistence Economy Platform — From Justice to Economic Recovery —
Beginning at legal support efforts, ingo PEACE. is has been working on toward the next phase of social recovery: the creation of a “Coexistence-oriented Economy” model.
In Myanmar, regional projects are being planned to harmonize environmental preservation with economic revitalization — including joint research on new biomass plant species (such as Erianthus) that do not require deforestation, propagation of seedlings, and the monetization of carbon credits.

These initiatives promote employment and energy independence in disaster-affected and rural areas, ultimately aiming to establish a coexistence-based economic platform that could support future basic income systems.
Future Outlook — A Future starting with Dialogue —
The realization of justice under the law marks the first step toward peace, democratization, and the restoration of public trust in society.
Taking this verdict as a starting point, ingo PEACE. will further strengthen collaboration with the judiciary, religious communities, and civil society and, in a peaceful way, will support the gradual release of political prisoners detained such in prison facilities amid the process of democratization and fostering solidarity among civil organizations.
The path forward will not be one of confrontation over who is right or wrong, but rather will involve listening to the earnest voices of each and every citizen and implementing initiatives on the field and the ground that are in line with their aspirations.
We firmly believe that restoring the practice of social justice under a trustworthy judiciary, and once again walking the path of dialogue and hope, will lay the foundation for a sustainable, coexistence-oriented society.
ingo PEACE. will continue
to walk together with citizens,
building peace through dialogue.
