International Non-governmental Organization PEACE. (ingo PEACE.) will host the “ingo PEACE. Human Rights Seminar” on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. local time at LOTTE HOTEL YANGON in Yangon, Myanmar.

Advancing with Courage
This seminar will bring together religious leaders, partner organizations, political parties participating in the upcoming democratic elections, and a wide range of civil society leaders. It will serve as a groundbreaking opportunity to engage in dialogue on the vision of a future society founded upon human dignity and human rights.
Presentation of Proposals
ingo PEACE. Chairperson Hiroyuki Nakazawa will deliver the keynote address entitled “Toward the Future of Peace and Human Rights.” His speech will revisit the spirit of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, adopted 77 years ago in Paris in 1948 by 48 of the 58 member states at the 3rd UN General Assembly. He will propose redefining peace as “a state in which all forms of energy—food, education, healthcare, livelihood, and culture—reach every life, leaving no ‘zero point of energy,’ and ensuring that even the most vulnerable can live in safety.” He will further present human rights as “the freedom and power to choose the future.”
Additionally, a legal expert will provide commentary on the current state of human rights provisions under the Myanmar Constitution and the importance of “legal order.” A message from the representative of Group of Nations, which produces official media for international forums such as the G20 and G7, will also be shared, underscoring solidarity with the international community.
A New First Step
This seminar represents a historic step not initiated by governmental or power institutions, but by diverse allies from civil society, religious communities, the legal and economic sectors, and international media—coming together with courage to begin human rights advocacy grounded in human dignity. The fact that this forum is being held with the understanding of Myanmar’s provisional new government is drawing significant attention domestically.
Building a New Social Model Through Dialogue
Following the seminar, from August 28–30, further dialogues will be convened with key government ministers and leading business representatives on recovery and development projects in agriculture, biomass power generation, and carbon credit initiatives. In parallel, a visionary forum on “a new economic model founded on human dignity and human rights” will also be held, advancing practical dialogues and international cooperation toward building a sustainable coexistence society in Myanmar.
ingo PEACE. intends to use this seminar as a catalyst to accelerate the promotion of a “coexistence model society founded on fundamental human rights” through education, culture, and policy dialogue, while continuing its work to support democratization and peaceful development in Myanmar.
Looking Ahead
Going forward, ingo PEACE. will deepen collaboration with the Myanmar National Human Rights Commission (MNHRC), the Center for Peace and Reconciliation (CPR), and pro bono legal support partner Thamardi Foundation. By expanding outreach to schools and local communities, the organization aims to foster the roots of human rights in Myanmar while strengthening cooperation with the international community.
